Midnight Snacking to Lose Weight…๐Ÿ’

  Tell me honestly…

Are you one of those who are completely a night person? Are you one of those who feel they are more productive when the clock is past 12:00AM? (Not being sarcastic!)
You could be doing anything. Working, watching a movie, partying with friends and family, reading, studying or just lazing around.
At the same time, you must also be on a healthy diet. Trying to lose those extra inches and be in your best form.
Now what happens is we all follow a healthy diet throughout the day. We also manage to go for a good (no great!) workout too….
But…
The struggle or the game is over post 12:00AM. When you are suddenly hungry coz you have had an early healthy dinner and it’s been 3-4 hrs since you haven’t eaten anything.
And now you are starving!
That’s exactly when your heart does not listen to your brain (sounds like a movie line but it’s so true!)
So I won’t be surprised and disheartened at the same time if you tell me that you reach out for your fridge and grab a tub of ice or a fruit coz both are going to do the same damage that sugar does at this hour of night.
And also….
All the hardwork and the healthy food that you have put in for the whole day is a complete waste now!
I’m so sorry for scaring you with this story of our reality but here’s the good part. I have a yummy solution for this scenario. And now you don’t have to starve at all!
Here, I have this yummiest (not sure if thats even a word…but still) midnight snack for you!
Masala Roasted Seeds and Nuts! โค
Roasted mixed seeds and nuts make a perfect midnight snack!
-These are soaked in water for 5-6 hrs. (For digestion and activation of the enzymes)
-Then sundried…
-Then Rosted with rock salt or pink salt, black pepper and red chilli powder mixed with Indian spices.
-Store it in an air tight container (easily lasts for 7-15 days)
– You are sorted with your snack for the week! โค
You can always flavor it according to your taste!โคโค
Other food options for The Roasted Masala midnight Snack:-
1) Flax seeds
2) Sunflower seeds
3) Makhana
4) Pumpkin seeds
5) All nuts (including cashews and walnuts)
Also….
Have this snack with a nice herbal tea and lemon!
I prefer Nutracy Herbal Blendsโค
Note:- Do not munch on these and immediately go off to sleep. Please walk for atleast 30-40 mins (listening to some nice music)
And then sleep! ๐Ÿ’
Let me now tell you the reason behind choosing these foods as your midnight snack.
– All these foods are rich in proteins (amino acids), minerals, essential fatty acids that is your omegas.
– All these nutrients make sure that your blood glucose is steady and does not drop or spike up.
– This in combination with the herbal green tea as a result maintains your metabolism at a good rate even at night
– which helps you lose weight! (Inches specifically) โค๐Ÿ’๐Ÿƒ
Hope I have helped upto some extent in solving your midnight eating problem!๐Ÿ˜‡
-You can message or email me in case of any doubt or confusion. I would be delighted to respond!
Stay healthy, Stay fit, Stay grateful, Stay blessed!๐Ÿ˜‡

STRESS AND METABOLISMย – ย How, When and What to do? ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย

Since today we are going to be talking about stress and its relationship with metabolism, I want you to understand why and how it leads to multiple damage to your body…

Also towards the end we are going to talk about different ways to deal with stress and the problems that it causes!

Remember how I always say that it’s never just a healthy body and healthy diet? Instead, It’s always HEALTHY MIND, BODY and SOUL

Here’s why……..

At any given time, there are millions of chemical reactions taking place in our cells — like digesting and assimilating nutrients, converting those nutrients into energy, and eliminating the rest as waste. The sum total of all these chemical reactions is known as metabolism

When we are in balance on every level — physical, emotional, mental and spiritual — our metabolism is in peak form, in turn utilizing calories in the most efficient way possible. On the contrary, whenever we are emotionally disturbed or stressed, on any or all of these levels, our metabolism is compromised. We store calories as fat instead of burning them as energy and we therefore need excess calories to accomplish the same metabolic functions. Thus our bodies going in storage mode…

When you are stressed, you end up with elevated stress hormones, especially Cortisol. During stress Cortisol can easily take over different hormones in the body. Cortisol affects metabolism by how glucose is formed. Stress-related weight gain can be due to a combination of low physical activity and increased caloric intake.

Being stressed is one of the main hazards of a healthy metabolism. How many times have you started a diet and done pretty well until some stressful event occurs. When the body faces any kind of stress- be it a simple traffic jam or a bad day, – it responds by dumping anti-stress (adrenal) hormones into the body.

The most common is norepinephrine. This is a good thing except when your norepinephrine reserve is depleted, your body’s metabolism screeches to a halt – or at least slows way down. What’s worse, when the norepinephrine levels are low, insulin, the hunger hormone, pours in. In other words, to our brain, spiritual, emotional and mental hunger equals physical hunger. By making choices to change our conscious thoughts, we can change our subconscious inclinations.

Stress is notorious for causing comfort-food cravings and depleting the willpower you need to make healthy choices, but it can do a whole lot of metabolic damage even if you never cave to the sugar demons. Stress creates a metabolic havoc by reducing the total number of calories that you burn in a day, impairing blood sugar control, and affecting insulin, testosterone, and thyroid hormones and many other imbalances….

In short all these things are leading you to Lifestyle Disorders like Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension and many more diseases….

Coming to the most important aspect of this article….

How to deal with these lifestyle disorders and constant stress levels which refuse to leave at any given point of time…..๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿค”

Anti aging super food:- wheatgrass!

Time for our next Anti aging food! Yes! Talking about wheatgrass today! ๐Ÿƒโ˜˜๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’
โ€ข Wheatgrass juice is perhaps the healthiest food out there, and wheatgrass benefits run the gamut, from increased energy levels to improved overall health to head-to-toe beauty.
โ€ข Wheatgrass boasts some impressive nutritional stats. Itโ€™s an excellent source of chlorophyll, vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E, and to top it all off wheatgrass contains 98 of 102 earth elements found in soil
โ€ข The star of wheatgrassโ€™ nutritional makeup is chlorophyll, it reverses aging Wheatgrass is made up of 70 percent chlorophyll โ€” no wonder itโ€™s so powerful.
โ€ข Wheatgrass should always be consumed on an empty stomach, either in the morning after waking up or at night before sleeping.
โ€ข The wheatgrass juice must be consumed fresh โ€“ within fifteen minutes of juicing for the best results. The juice should always be taken undiluted and on an empty stomach so the nutrients can be absorbed more efficiently. Powdered and freeze dried wheatgrass supplements are nowhere near as effective as fresh wheatgrass juice.
โ€ข The amino acid chains and antioxidants in wheatgrass can help repair damaged DNA and reduce the effect of free radicals Damaged DNA can wreak havoc in your body, causing sterility, genetic abnormalities, and abnormal or quicker aging.
โ€ข Including nutrient-dense foods like wheatgrass in your diet can help you wean off of unhealthy, nutritionally-devoid foods. By balancing your bodyโ€™s pH and satisfying your nutritional needs โ€” not to forget developing a healthy habit.

COMBATING THE ERA OF LIFESTYLE DISORDERS…

We live in a world where multitasking is a must. We live in a world where our work gets the highest priority in our lives. Which is why we now live in a world of lifestyle disorders. Ever come across this? You sure will in upcoming years…..
Lifestyle disorders include many factors like stress, obesity, hypertension, diabetes and many types of psychological disorders.

But instead of discussing lifestyle disorders in detail, we will be discussing all those factors which will keep us away from all the lifestyle disorders.
Here you go,
A healthy lifestyle should be a way of living and not just a temporary fix to nullify effect of illness, sickness.
We live in a world where not many of us have time to keep healthy or stay fit. But once you get into the habit of maintaining a healthy routine, you will be able to see, perceive and experience the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
For a layman, health is solely an absence of sickness and ailments. This view is very narrow and one-sided. The term โ€˜healthโ€™ is much more comprehensive. A Good health is a state of all-round physical, social, mental and spiritual well being of a person.
Being active offers benefits beyond an improved physique and a healthy body. Health and fitness are crucial aspects of someoneโ€™s lifestyle and has the power to alter a personโ€™s life in substantial ways.
Fitness is one of the first steps you can take to live a healthy lifestyle. You donโ€™t have to be a fitness freak to be healthy; you just have to partake in a small amount of physical exercise everyday to maintain a sound level of fitness. It can be as simple as walking for 40 minutes. Physical fitness is imperative for a healthy life. Physical fitness includes diet, exercise and sleep.
Diet is the kind of food of we choose to consume. As our life depends upon it we must know what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat. Therefore, one should โ€œeat to live and not live to eatโ€. You donโ€™t have to starve yourself to death in order to be fit and lose weight!

Itโ€™s just more about eating the right foods. Being fit and nourished is not as hard as you think. Changing a few simple things will do you the world of good; small changes can make a big difference.
Many people have the ability of eating whatever they want and not gaining a pound, however what these people may not realize is that all the bad food they are ingesting right now, will surely catch up with them in the later years of life, and may be setting them up with many health problems (lifestyle disorders) down the road.
Itโ€™s important to have a variety of different food items so your body has a healthy balanced diet. Maintaining a healthy diet not only offers your body the energy and nutrition it needs to function but also offers many health benefits that can help one live longer and have a better life.
“A sound mind in a sound body” is absolutely true and you will experience it with some small steps!

Obviously, what works for everybody else, may not necessarily work for you. If you want to get the optimum level of health and fitness for your body, you should consult a dietician and nutritionist who will tell you explicitly/precisely, what you should be eating, and what you should be cutting down on.

All you need to do is find a way that works for you.
Sustaining a healthy diet is not the only thing to keep in mind, being physically active is equally important.
Another thing that many people are not aware of is the MOOD SWINGS that come from unhealthy eating. Diets that do not include all the nutrients in right proportion can lead people to severe mood swings.
The effects that unhealthy eating and a lack of exercise has on your body can be life changing and detrimental.
This is why it is extremely important to have a balance between the two so you can avoid all the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle. Balance is the key. To have a healthy life one must have a balance between eating healthy, and exercising, however treating yourself once in awhile is not wrong at all!

Everything needs to be done in moderation.
Life should not be taken for granted, because without life you are nothing. Be conscious about the decisions in life now, so your body does not have to pay for them later.
Thus, balanced diet, regular exercise, sound sleep and some meditation are the prerequisites for a complete health and fitness, and this in turn is the key to a productive and successful life.
Nutrition and fitness is essential for a healthy living.

Not only will you look and feel good, but by eating the right things and doing the right amount of exercise, you could also lower your chances of getting some serious life threatening diseases.
Itโ€™s your decision, at the end of the day, whether you want a healthy living or not, but you should be aware, that it is not difficult at all and you sure can do it.
Yes, YOU CAN DO IT!
